Beating Froch in a tournament that left who out, Bute and...? Calzaghe ruined Kessler, really?! It was a great competitive fight because the two best took each other on. Someone had to lose and they (Mikkel) wasn't ruined, beaten down, busted up.

It was ok. Not sure whats to disagree on. He fought 2 A-listers in a 168 botched tournament that was closing on 3 years to complete. Jones fought Byrd, Toney, Lucas and Sosa in one year at 168 and then went on to own 175. Why does Ward beating Froch and a Calzaghe pincushion in Kessler warrant such praise? Not sure how to respond to the doubt that Joe wrecked Kessler? Its funny how in hindsight, Froch was not even in his league so why the fuss over beating him? Whats Ward done?

This is where these kinds of things start to grow their own limbs. He has not really done much of anything.
No division in ages...agreed to have their best fight with no catchweight, no haggling. I'm not saying 2008-2011 was the best ever, but it was Damn good. 42-1 Kessler, undefeated Andre Dirrell, Ward, Abe moving up to SMW ...not like today's GGG...He heard the big dogs coming. Maybe you felt Jermaine Taylor was done before the Super Six he lost a barn burner tko and a decision to Kelly Pavlik. Allen Green had one loss. Was he really that weak? In other words what years were the SMW bumping for you?

What are we talking about? There is nothing above that adds anything other then to bolster my point. Ward has done nothing except maybe parasite that gold medal. What has he done. Green. I agree, but not sure how that diminishes Ward, without including every fighter today then has done nothing special or can ever....with as many trinket belts...as the Super Six pitted the best records, best skilled from MW to SMW...basically leaving trinket belts for an elimination tourney!!!

It was not a 160/168 tourney and it had about 3 elite super-middleweights. It was also close to 6 years ago.Why do people continue when the jig is up? The guy has done nothing since 2011


Ward does hold one distinction that sets him apart from all others that came before. Never in the history of the sport has someone with his amount of talent and ability done so little.

I also asked what era gained your respect. Instead, you just mentioned Charley Burley and the champ who ducked him: Ray 'I'm too pretty to fight Burley' Robinson.
It's not Charley fault he hasn't accomplished anything. It's the champions of his era, white and black. Just let the great Ray fight Lamotta 4 decisions until a stoppage.

And Ward comparing himself to Ray is his comparison, not mines.

Everyone here who thinks highly of Ward's skills all seem to agree with you that he has squandered a considerable amount of time.
But it doesn't mean what he did accomplish should be denigrated. Especially when the Ward critics don't bring anything new other than opinions.
