Abraham was very smart, he used the ref to his advantage, anyother ref he still would have won though, maybe MD or a SD, I had him up by 1 point without deductions, but another eef may have deducted points for holding so you never know. Miranda was wobbled plenty of times, Abraham was caught clean aswell, but overall Abraham landed more clean punches, but Miranda was more active, aggressive, and had abraham on the back foot, which was winning him rounds. Definatly worth a rematch.

If you gave the 12th to Miranda isn't that a draw? Or did you have 1 round even?Originally Posted by yoitsdan
on fightnews it says that the ref told Abraham if he doesn't continue he will lose by tko.

Abraham deafeats Miranda!
A definite fight of the year candidate
By Karl Freitag
In an unbelievably vicious fight, IBF middleweight champion Arthur Abraham (22-0, 17 KOs) won a courageous twelve round decision over previously unbeaten mandatory challenger Edison "Pantera" Miranda (26-1, 23 KOs) at the Rittal Arena in Wetzlar, Germany. Both fighters landed big shots early on. Miranda stalked the champion much of the time, while Abraham covered, however when Arthur did open up, he was effective. Both fighters continued to fight after the bell to end round two. The ebb and flow continued in round three as both fighters held up well to the bombs unleashed by the other. Abraham had a good round four, cracking some very hard shots off Miranda's head. Miranda hurt Abraham early in in the fifth (possibly breaking his jaw) then intentionally headbutted Abraham later in the round, causing Abraham to bleed heavily from the mouth. The ring doctor initially determined Abraham could not continue. Referee Randy Neumann ruled that the cut was not caused by the headbutt and told Abraham if he doesn't continue to fight he'll lose by TKO. Bleeding heavily, Abraham chose to continue to fight and finished the round. Abraham boxed the stalking Miranda in the sixth. Blood was streaming out of Abraham's swollen mouth. In the seventh, but Miranda was deducted two points for a low blows. Abraham tried to finish Miranda in the eighth, but Miranda weathered the storm and both fighters continued to land bombs. The brutality continued in rounds nine and ten, and Neumann was showing signs of stopping the fight due to the condition of Abraham's jaw. Action was stopped in the eleventh due to another low blow by Miranda, and Neumann deducted another point. Miranda came out looking for the KO in the twelfth, while the injured Abraham was just looking to get to the final bell. In the end, scores were 114-109, 115-109, 116-109 for Abraham.

Without the rest in the 11th Abraham could have been KO'd though, he took at least 4 minutes when a 'low blow' landed. Lastr round to Miranda clear, to make it 115-114 without deductions IMO, 115-109 with. Jugdes must have seen it similar to me.

Great lesson of courage from Arthur, personally, I would have quit with that kind of injury (I'm sure the jaw is broken in at least different places) he wasn't able to close his mouth and forced to put his gumshield into his mouth in round .
Miranda is a hell of a fighter, but if he wasn't able to finish Arthur with tah injury...
He landed that headbutt intentionally, he landed at least 2 or 3 very low blows...the ref was right to call (in my opinion) 3 points deduction (heabutt+ low blows number one), the 4th was disputable and the 5th one wasn't justified.
Arthur was really really courageous.
What I enjoy was to see Arthur being elusive and ...connecting to Miranda face with this tactic..
Miranda was surprised, he was waiting for a war, he just didn't have a plan B
Deserved decision for Arthur.
UGH!! I HATE WHEN THIS STUFF HAPPENS IN BOXING!!! I guess they knew he'd be KO'd to so they gave him a 5 minute rest. What was Dave Paris money given to him? Thats so despicable!!!! I HATE IT!!!Originally Posted by yoitsdan

It was a terrific fight, its just a shame that Abraham/Officials resorted to basically cheating to get him the victory, when Abraham is probably enough of a fighter to beat Miranda.
