Everyone is harsh on england I think, they just don't have that good of a squad right now. The "golden generation" of terry, lampard and gerrard(:S) has fairly recently departed and now they are just a bit between era, they just need their young and inexperienced players to keep at it and get more experience. Although the way the press and fans beat em up it could be hard for england to develop properly, there seems to be a lot of unnecessary pressure following the team always.. The squad was one of the weakest for england for quite a while and it didn't work out for them. No need to crucify them.

Iceland are also way better than people seem to be giving them credit for, they were 25th in the world last year, which is not great but it's not like it's a bunch of fishermen england lost to. They finished ahead of the dutch and turkey in their qualifying group, and then beat austria and finished ahead of portugal in the group stage :S.... Lars Lagerback is also a very experienced manager. Good work from iceland, this team has been coming for a while, I remember back in 2010 their under 21 team gave scotland a going over in the qualifiers for some under 21 competition( i think european)... it is icelands golden generation right now and hats off to them.

Quite right about Iceland, but what did England's "Golden Generation" ever do? They're probably more of a disappointment than this lot.

I agree that time was more disappointing for england fans(but not me :S)

I do think they were a bit unfortunate in 2004 though, if rooney hadn't broke his foot and urs meier didnt disallow the goal they could well have progressed v portugal and had a good chance of going on to win it... of course "If ifs and buts were candies and nuts we'd all have a merry Christmas"... Funny how it was big phil scolari who put england out three tournaments in a row too ..

    1-1 goal for wales

The squad is not brilliant but its not shit either - and even a mediocre team can be organised and show some fight.

Yes they did! And they deserved it! Apart from missing Ramsay in the Semi, they've got a brilliant chance of getting to the final!

haha amazing! and the best thing is wales actually have a fairly good chance of making the final, portugal havent won a game in the 90 minutes, infact they only won a game by beating croatia in extra time and then the penalty shootout :S portugal have been far from convincing... As fun as wales have been I think portugal will be too much for them, cronaldo isnt scoring and has had 40 something shots and 2 goals :S but he looks very dangerous and is just waiting to burst into life, the new bayern player has also looked great, definently the young player of the tournament so far but apart from those two portugal don't have too much (nani is pretty good to be fair)... will be a really good semi final as long as the occasion doesnt get the welsh and I don't think it will as they seem really up for this ! I am picking portugal to advance though.

I hate it when you are so rational and reasonable.

Well done Wales that was a performance.

I do not believe it, that should be England, you sure they have not just swapped shirts?

Not sure why it should be England.
With the exception of Euro 96, England haven't performed like that in the last 50 years!
Even in Italia 90, they cobbled their way to the Semis nearly getting knocked out by Cameroon and winning against Belgium with the last kick of Extra time.
Infact the only other time Wales qualified for a finals , they got to a quarter Final and lost 1-0 to Brazil with some young kid getting the winner. I'm not sure if he went on to do much , Pele I think he was called.
What happened to England in that tournament? Oh yeah , they didn't get out of their group. Northern Ireland did though! 😂😂😂
