I think its pretty shocking that his dad is speaking to the papers less that 24 hours after it happened, by all accounts he was pretty close to his family so I would have thought they would have wanted a bit of time to grieve and process everything

It's a shame it happened, very unfortunate and completely avoidable from Atkinson's part. Cops for the most part don't go looking to fuck with people....which of course is something not fully accepted and embraced by a certain group of people, namely those who wish to break the law without opposition.

so often you hear of sportsmen struggling once they give the profession up but the thing I can't really get my head around is that he was 48, its not exactly like when Calzaghe or Hatton went off the rails briefly after they retired from boxing is it.
