Monica Puig tops Angelique Kerber to claim Puerto Rico's first ever gold
I THOROUGHLY enjoyed watching this women's tennis gold medal match yesterday. Monica Puig came through despite all the odds, being ranked 34th in the world, and having to get by the # 4 (Garbine Muruguza) in an earlier round, and beating a super-tough Angelique Kerber (# 2 in the world!!!) to win the gold. I hadn't done that much high-fiving since the old Trinidad days. And....... she's only 22. Good things ahead for Monica.
Pica Power!!!!
1st gold for P.R. at an Olympics since......... well, since ever.

Hard to believe that's Puerto Ricos first gold ever, cool. I really liked watching the Argentinian guy(Del Potro?) beat Djokovic a while back, that was a great game and I think he started out seeded pretty low as well, I'd never heard of him. Lost to Andy Murray for the gold yesterday.
Didn't extend the recording long enough. I've enjoyed a lot of the Olympic events, but I must say that women's tennis final was special.
