you're crazy right?
Sturm/De Carolis - World Champions, chance to be a 2 weight World Champion. Should be enough money to tempt either of them.
Badou Jack - World Champion , Floyd has said Jack would fight him.
Degale - World Champion , easy money and good money. if he's got the balls.
Ramirez - World champion and at least as much money as fighting Jacobs.
Groves - Despite not being a World Champ, good money. not sure he'd be that keen seeing as GGG already broke his ribs. but hey, that's only sparring.
Callum Smith - ditto. Doubt whether Matchroom would go down this route , they want him to be a World title holder. Stylistically and size wise, not a good fight for GGG, could be interesting.
Chavez Jr. - if they ever managed to get this twat in the ring, very good money, doubt Chavez would take it.
Abraham - Milk the golden egg one last time.
you could even add the Dirrells to that list, and they might make decent money.
What is there at MW?
Jacobs - he SAYS he wants it. we'll see.
BJS & Eubank - both a pair of loud mouthed chicken shit time wasters who don't deserve a chance to earn that money.
so like I said, if they can't get Jacobs to commit, Go up.
Well, least he has the other one so he can avoid reverting back to a pacifier. Canelo wants zero to do with Golovkin. Clear as day.
I can't agree with the above.
More money - I don't think so . Look at the options and the names in the SMW Division.
More Trinkets - again, wrong. He has nearly all the titles at MW already, but he's got all of the SMW Trinkets to go for.
More Prestige - the days when the MW Division was the Blue Riband division of Boxing have long gone, it hasn't existed for decades.
Historically the MW Div was the prestige division because it was the average persons build , so everyone could aspire to it and more people would compete at that weight. But in the last 50 years, Man has evolved into a much bigger individual. That's the whole reason why the SMW and CW Divisions were created.
You're clutching at straws here mate.😉

Agree with most of this, but just to nitpick, I'd say welterweight has always been the prestige division for the reasons you say. There are still and I believe have almost always been more active pros competing there than any other weight class by a good margin. When you consider how far from fighting shape the average person is and what fighters put into cutting weight, that's still closer to the average guys build.
So what is he to do till 2019? Or sometime never? Scratch his ass and wait? Canelo ain't happening anytme soon.
1. They don't want it, none of them. They've all been offered it in the past.
2. It won't improve his legacy in the eyes of the haters.
3. Canelo is clearly waiting till GGG is too old. And he'll be closer to 40 by the time they're talking about.
4. Oscar doesn't want it. And if Oscar doesn't want it, Canelo doesn't want it. Oscar can't risk killing the golden goose.
5.GGG will be retired by then.
It's definitely time to forget about Canelo. And when he does, you watch, it'll be Canelo that runs out of opponents.
For the record GGG has a contract for a Canelo fight at 160 next fall for 10 million and PPV upside.
I feel like I led everyone astray with my post. There is no confirmation that they won't fight until 2019 but I would guess it will get pushed back until then. I can't imagine his original date for next September being in play and I'm sure that he is only going to fight once before then. And he will want a fight with him probably around the same time so I would guess may 2018 at the absolute earliest but I don't think that happens.
Well Floyd broke his finger nail against Maidana and did not fight until November 2017.![]()
