We see it much more now watching the clock overhead. Spitting a mouthpiece. Chavez Sr. had this huge mouth massage thing he would do while introduced. He looked like this guy..:biting. He didn't think he'd lose but knew he would take hits. Jorge Arce did that. Remember John Ruiz always running to the ring. Fella couldn't wait to just hug someone. Taking a knee. Looking to a ref is a give most of the time. When Golota started taking combos it was a matter of time till he hit you in the balls. Or bit a guy.

Oliver McCall crying he was going to knock you out or quit.

Tyson taking out his mouthpiece, time to get disqualified.

Gatti shaking his hand, he has injured it.

G Man blinking and mouthpiece hanging out of his mouth, brain injury.

Also when a fighter pulls up his trunks he may be trying to move up the low blow line in the ref's mind.
He may be weary of the body shots he's getting hit with.

When a fighter puts his hands down and calls his opponent onto him. He's been hurt big time.
Also , when a fighter shakes his head after he's been hit, not only did it hurt, but he's annoyed he got tagged.

What did you want Tyson to do? Go into Bruno's dressing room before they fought and tell him not to worry too much that he would not get hurt that much?

When a fighter says yeah I'll fight Golovkin. It generally means fighting Golovkin is the last thing they want to be doing.
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough

Audley Harrison's face on the ringwalk, getting into the ring, during the pre-fight announcements and then all the way through the fight till he got knocked out.
