I can't explain it, so I was hoping someone would enlighten me, because it seems none of you have a problem with Irish Fighters, and all you yanks with a drop of Irish blood in you all of a sudden feel the need to wear tartan! I'm half Irish myself and I don't feel any different from the the next guy. I'm confused
Before I read the other post, I want to comment... I don't like the Aurthur Abrahams and the Witter, and Hamed and the American Winky Wright even tho these guys can sometimes be thrilling ,, but that defense first type of fighting does not appeal to me as a viewing fan .However I love the Nigel Benn- and Ricky Hatton ( fucking love this guy) and Joe Calzaghe , because they brings it ! .. So for me its a stylistic preference and not a hatred for the UK fighter .. . I never got into that hatter mentality..I go with styles and the personality of a fighter. whats pleasing to the eye , Is this fighter risking something to try and win? Determination factor.. just watched Witter's last performance and it was a shameful one. all that posing and cockiness. i cant stand that in a fighter, no matter where they from... to me Witter is much different from a James Toney cockiness. because Toney brings it 100% and that dilutes the negative aspects of his cocky B.S. The Defense first mentality sucks in a contact sport like boxing.. Just think if 2 fighters have that mentality, we would all be turing the channel to watch Tennis. .
