Cool story.
One detail though.... Kovalev isn't Froch.
I have an issue with everyone dismissing Froch.
Froch has been in some wars and avenged his close loss to Kessler.
I'm not saying that Froch is better than kovalev but you can't dismiss Froch like he's nothing.
Froch was the man to beat in the super 6 and Ward did a number on him.
How about the opponents that Froch has faced?..are we saying that Kovalev had a harder rise to the top?
Let's make it clear that I believe Kovalev is better than Froch but Froch has surely fought better opponents?
I would have to look back at their opponents to make a call on that, but when you ask who had the harder rise to the top, it is 100% Kovalev. The guy was fighting for $10k a fight until 2 years ago , and even last night as Champion, he was getting half of what the challenger was.
There was a lot of hot air talked about Froch's warrior status and who he fought etc.
but let's not forget , he retired because he couldn't get the only fight he wanted , and that was Chavez Jr. In Vegas, when Chavez's reputation was at an all time low.
By being an American fighting in the U.S...... having American judges...... having commentators fawning over you (I cleaned it up a bit)....... being knows as S.O.G....... etc, etc.
