Yes and 90% of fans as I've been reading countless comments on articles about the fight.Only here have I seen such a handful of people being defiant and devil's advocate with crazy scores like 8-4 Ward and so on.6-6 was best case scenario for Ward. He was being outlanded in many rounds by that Kovalev jab alone. Ward staged a gutsy and courageous comeback, but it simply was not enough. He did no significant damage to his opponent and was being out thrown and out landed throughout the fight.
Look at the punch stats. It shows how close a fight it was.

As for 90% of fans scoring it for Kov. Come on. Everyone knows the majority of boxing fans cant score fights for shit.
None of us can accurately judge a fight from our couch, getting every angle and every reply to help us.

Judges are judges for a reason.
Judge have less angles than the tv viewer, tv viewers get multiple angles during the round and highlights after (although the highlights shouldn't affect the scoring)

Exactly, they don't get the view we do so they could easily score a fight 118-110 that you score 113-115 the opposite way if they haven't had the best view of the shots.

There must have been at least one "robbery" in history that could have been attributed to this.

It's sad that every other sport, including tradition-bound ones like soccer, has embraced technology to try and reduce judging or refereeing errors.... while boxing is stuck in the Stone Age with three judges and their sometimes limited vantage points, making judgments that many times rob a deserving fighter of a decision earned with blood and sweat.

That's a good point! Seems like every other sport is using 100 different camera angles to make sure they got the call exactly right!

And then we have 3 judges who have one angle to observe from trying to decide who won! And most of these judges are old fucks!

Dont agree that judges need technology to help them. Even that is largely up to manipulation. I believe at ringside you are much better placed to see the quality of a punch then you see on tv.

Its corruption and incompetence mixed together. Look at the Perez Hooker fight. Cant see how Hooker won more then one round yet one judge gave him 7?

This close was nowhere near a robbery. A very close fight which could have gone either way. I do wonder though if Wards team had any influence in picking the judges who favor his style. Very rare in a very close fight that not one of the judges would favor the aggressors work.

I really do not get why judges do not sit in a room with a tv with no sound and watch the fight. I mean then every judge gets to see the whole fight in the same way why keep it the way it is just not as good as it could be.
