Ward is not pound for pound after that performance but does deserve props for surviving the knockdown and winning the majority of the 2nd half.

Kovalev seemed to really feel those body shots and found it hard to land that right hand later on in the fight..perhaps that alone deserved a tad more praise in wards direction in breaking the champion down.
I think that Ward proved that he is still a top p4p fighter. Kovalev is one of the best (if not the best) fighters in the world right now and ward made it a very close fight. Ward would beat any other person at 168 or 175 easily.
