Must be one of the hardest things to take. To go from being known as tough to now not being sure if the next punch he takes might kill him.He will never be able to even defend his kids or wife if came down to a possible fight.

Let's just hope he pulls through n doesn't try sparring another pro boxer again.I'd reckon a guy like this would take his chances defending his family against joe six pack. Average person can't hit a decent pro boxer in a fight anyway and certainly can't take being hit by one.

Watched a programme about killer punches. It only take one blow and a lot of it is how they land/impact on the floor. Very sad cases which end up as manslaughter cases.

Been in a lot of brawls and jump in gang initiations in your day huh? LolMost fights end in less than a minute especially if someone knows how to use their fists and the other guy doesn't.

If Blackwell has been involved in sparring in the sense that we all understand it, then it's complete and utter lunacy. How anyone agreed to it or allowed it is simply staggering.

For the moment, Im clinging to the hope that something else has gone on here. Maybe he was training someone and got clipped accidently, maybe he didnt get hit at all. Here's hoping.

He didn't make a full recovery, if he had then he wouldn't have had his licence took off him.

Any idea where they draw the line? Obviously Blackwells injury was so severe he wasn't going to get it back, but an example I can think of would be Jermain Taylor. He had a brain bleed of some sort after I believe the Abraham fight, and he obviously got his licence back to fight but controversially, I remember that redhead woman who was around for so many fights, chief physician somewhere(likely Nevada) saying he should have never been declared medically fit again, which looks like the right call in hindsight, yet he was even given a title fight!
