My friend told me he is no longer comfortable being friends with me because I do not support Hillary /Barack and so on. We have not seen one another since 1985 at an Alice Cooper concert, but this is a friendship I always thought would last. Back in 83 my friend and I were out and about with a few other lads; they chose to ride go-carts, we went across the road to find girls. My friend was better looking than the singer from Poison so we had a shot. We were accosted by 8 guys who wanted to fight; we tried the back door to get to our friends but they caught us in the parking lot. When they jumped on my friend I stabbed one of them two good shots in his chest. My friend ran across the lot to his car, then drove through, over and across all barriers to come get me. We drove through some apartments and I dumped the knife then we drank down in the dairy farms that used to be there until morning. This is the same cat that turned me onto the Tygers of Pan Tang. And we can't be friends any more?

It's fucking ridiculous. This is what the age of Social Media has brought us instead of going out and seeing and interacting with people who have different views and different cultures we (the human race) are retreating to our computers and it turns out we don't want to read things with which we disagree, we delete, and block, and unfriend and keep everyone who supports us in our happy little safe space bubble ....it's delusional.

Wow, that's quite the story!

It's so sad that friendships are broken up over differing political views! I have a few friends who were vehemently against Trump and his supporters. Being a Trump supporter myself, I often times had to bite my tongue when people I knew were talking about how evil he was and how he was the next Hitler. I always felt that it wasn't worth losing friendships and pissing off coworkers because they have a different political viewpoint. I'm a right wing libertarian, and one of my best friends is a socalist Bernie supporter. We just don't talk serious politics!
