I saw them a few times back in the day. I saw them at Newcastle Mayfair which was one of the best gigs I've ever been to. I saw them a few times in London too and they were fantastic. And in Dublin at the height of their fame when half of Ireland's music stars got on stage at some point including the Dubliners. They used to be an amazing live band, no idea what they're like now. But the crowds used to go absolutely mental during the shows. Like the wildest rock concert you've ever been to times two.

Drove home yesterday with Dirty ol town stuck in my head. Fits very well . Like the Pogues but more of a early Nips fan if I'm honest.

I got an album of their greatest hits supposedly years ago and remember not warming to it. The Chieftains however, are a terrific band!
