I can't explain it, so I was hoping someone would enlighten me, because it seems none of you have a problem with Irish Fighters, and all you yanks with a drop of Irish blood in you all of a sudden feel the need to wear tartan! isn't the term 'you yanks' supposed to be condescending?
It seems to be the simple problem that British boxing just has little or no exposure in the United States, so when they look at the record of Bristish boxers and dont recognise the names of British or Europeans on their records, then they say they haven't fought anyone. And as the US has the largest pool of boxers in any country, then they will produce a large amount of all fighters, so naturally most of the fights will be domestic, so those are the recognisable names. And because of distance problems, none but the best of British fighters will fight in the USA. Thus my argument is that Americans will call British boxers overrated until some quality Americans get their bums on the canvas.

As for the Irish, they tend to do a lot of their fighting in America, like our lad John Duddy, and that's why they are often preferred in America. That or Ireland were never the colonial oppressors, and ruled America from the capital city's parliament....
