I am agnostic though Jewish by birth but live in a broadly secular Country with Christian traditions, and so my Mrs and the kids have never been to synagogue and I have always celebrated Christmas with them and the in-laws. If I am with my Dad or siblings then I will join in with Passover, Hannukah etc and we have a menorah and candlesticks in the cupboard which comes out when he visits. Out of respect for him I will also observe Sabbath and take part in the chanting and blessings when he is around. Sabbath for most Jews is a time for family and games etc which is nice but I often have to work Friday nights and Saturdays. I like the Hebrew Sabbath prayers they remind me of my Grandfather who has long passed. Never spun a dreidel though many still buy them as gifts at this time of year.
