At the same time we don't want to give to much credence to the un. They truly are a worthless bunch that cost the us 8 billion a year. On second thought screw the un, all the hotspots in the world and this is the best they can do. Why not take on South Koreans oppression of women. That's a fair enough assessment and complaint. Maybe the ideal was good... but as usual from idea to reality there's usually a huge disconnect. Maybe it's time for people with balls to completely overhaul the organization, and make it do what it was meant to do. Otherwise scrap the damn thing.

That's why countries that normally never agree on much all came together to vote in favor of the resolution condemning the Israeli settlements, with the U.S. abstaining, but secretly wishing they could vote for it themselves. Then, neighborhood bully Netanyahu summons all the aforementioned ambassadors, including the one from the U.S..... and proceeds to put them over his knee and spanks them.

Israeli-Arab conflicts, old as time itself, and the U.S. sticking it's gigantic nose where it doesn't belong, is one of the main reasons why the U.S. has suffered from Arab extremists' terrorism. Doesn't make it right, mind you..... but you don't see terrorists flying airliners into tall building in other nations.

As you say, Israel has absolutely no problem defending itself, and can more than hold its own in any military conflict. However, the fact that most of the international community condemns what they're doing cannot be ignored.

I'd much rather be neutral, and let them resolve their own differences. Surely the Israelis wouldn't resort to terrorist bombings against the U.S. if left to deal with their own problems. Given the current state of global affairs and the proliferation of terrorism, I don't agree with this world policeman stance.

Israel is an apartheid state that cannot stop building settlements or habitually massacring Palestinians. I see that you do share common beliefs, goals, and common values. A decent country would support neither Israel nor Saudi Arabia.
