Another way is to say that Israelis continue to expand these contested settlements, refusing to negotiate in good faith..... content with the knowledge that Big Brother Uncle Sam is right behind them wielding a big baseball bat. As you say, Israel has absolutely no problem defending itself, and can more than hold its own in any military conflict. However, the fact that most of the international community condemns what they're doing cannot be ignored.
