It only got better compared to the ufc card last night where B.J Penn was shamelessly glued back together just to sell a main event and was hammered like a nail.
What bothers me most about that is what company men they all are. It had been what 6 years since Penn won a fight? But I watched about 15 different interviews and didn't find one where they admitted the fight was a joke. Just BJ should retire, that's the closest I heard. The dishonesty within the organization is disgusting. I will become a fan when it's big enough that they feel they can tell the truth. I hate how biased boxings people are but at least people have the freedom to say if they don't like something. That's my biggest gripe with PBC, they seem to follow the UFC cheerleader style. I don't need someone telling me what is amazing, I have eyes.
I think that is one point that has helped ufc bring the blab of 'ending boxing' and other nonsense by some fans. It has tremendous tunnel vision but blinding brand. It's practically an extended infomercial with pre and post hour long studio coverage on every show and some bobble head with a catch phrase hypes the next ufc 501! Still though it was a matter of time before the same turn offs show up. Outrage about judging, rule changes, fighters being named great blown out badly and disgraceful mismatches as above. Nick Diaz wants a boxing license? Brian Vera better watch his arse!
As I mentioned in another thread. The boxing license thing is smart. It's to exploit the Muhammad Ali Act. I explain it more thoroughly in Vendettos video thread about Amir Khan and AJ. I would just link a video where Randy Couture explains it and how the Muhammad Ali Act will be expanded to cover all fight sports but for some reason I can't do links here. If you're interested it's probably on youtube, just try searching Randy Couture discusses McGregor getting boxing license
