In Alien, if John Hurt had been bending over tying his laces with the facehugger egg behind him, instead of looking down at it, we would have had a much funnier film.

Absolutely brilliant as an actor. I don't think he ever performed poorly in a movie...he may have been in shitty movies the way all actors are, but the movie was never shitty because of him that's for certain.
