Default Re: Eubank Jnr v Renold Quinlan - ITV Box Office 4/2/17

When you consider that around 9 Million ITV viewers will potentially be seeing this advertised during the Rugby on Saturday afternoon you realise how small Sky Sports are in comparison and what an brilliant opportunity Eubank Jnr has found himself in and what a massive platform he can keep fighting on if it sells well - It's on a plate for him really

    C
hris Eubank Jnr begins a new venture on Saturday night, in a new division, with ITV Box Office intent on making the young fighter a flagship name for its foray into pay-per-view sports programming.
Eubank meets IBO supermiddleweight champion Renold Quinlan, a little-known an Australian boxer.
Yet with Eubank, and the Eubank name, ITV Box Office have chosen well. Eubank and son resonate in boxing circles, and beyond. It is a name which the public associates with the sport. And with ITV broadcasting the Six Nations match between England and France live on Saturday afternoon, expected to draw around 9 million viewers, there will be teasers for the boxing extravaganza on its box office channel.
There is little concern that 'Eubank + Boxing' sells. Place them in a room, with opponents, and let the chemistry happen. On Thursday, Eubank Jnr, a quiet, menacing man, offered a withering assessment at a news conference from Olympia of future rivals Billy Joe Saunders and Gennady Golovkin.

Eubank said he would scorch both the UK No 1 middleweight - Saunders - the only man to defeat 27-year-old Eubank in his 24-fight career, and Golovkin, the world's No 1 in the division. Chris Eubank Snr, the former two-weight world champion, looked on serenely.
What ITV are doing - with pound for pound modern great Andre Ward and once great undisputed heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis providing ringside analysis - looks intriguing and by dipping their toes into the box office market, it has created another potentially lucrative outlet for the bigger names in boxing.
Thursday gave the platform for Eubank Jnr and his father to expound their next few years. Although Junior stressed he is not overlooking Quinlan, his heart is set on another fight with WBO middleweight champion Saunders, and the Kazakh Golovkin.
"Saunders, I'm never, ever going to get past that fight, I'm never going to have him out of mind, until I right that wrong," said Eubank Jnr. "He has a win over me; I need to even the score."
The contest on Saturday night is Eubank Jnr's first fight at super middleweight. He admitted to being comfortable with the extra eight pounds. His father, worth recalling, went from middleweight to cruiserweight by the end of his career.
"After this victory, I'm coming for everybody. Saunders, James DeGale. I want the rest of those teeth, I've told everybody I'm going to put DeGale's teeth on my mantelpiece," he said.
"Then there's Gennady Golovkin. He is viewed by some of you guys as one of the best in the world. I don't see it. I can see holes in him. I've got a nice little plan for that man Golovkin."
Eubank Snr told The Telegraph: "We have no fear of these opponents. We are serious. Even Andre Ward who is here, working for ITV Box Office. I do not fear these fighters for my son. ITV have been very wise to see us, to become involved with us. It has created an opportunity for us to steer our own path, to create fights which the fans want to see, the biggest fights."
Also on the card are the heavyweight David Price, who faces Christian Hammer, and flyweight Andrew Selby who meets Ardin Diale for the WBC international crown. But the 3000 fans will be at Olympia for team Eubank. The father and son who refuse to be denied.
