It's because all organizations in fighting, be it boxing or MMA, never seem to have a single standard for measuring height. It's ridiculous. I don't know if they measure some of these guys with their shoes on or what, but they need to be consistent when reporting height.Originally Posted by means2184
For example David Tua has been listed as 5'9, 5'9and 1/2, and 5'10 in different bouts.
Sam Peter has been listed as 6'0, 6'1, and 6'2 in various bouts and articles. The only guys heights that they don't screw up on are the tall guys (the giraffes) Wlad is always listed as 6'6 for example.
But everyone under 6'2.....good luck finding the consistency.
They need to make each fighter take off his shoes and measure them with the same damn tape...shouldn't be that hard.
