I dislike both fighters and if we can get a double knockout that would be good.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.

Does it? It may mean that he will fight at another weight below or above to avoid GGG. Canelo could try and fight Saunders but he really is embarrassing himself.
As soon as GGG shows any sign of slowing down or weakness then the Ginger one will come running to make the fight.

I mean that if Chavez wins then a GGG/ Canelo fight is several diminished. Alvarez will probably try to milk a rematch/ trilogy with Chavez to wait out Golovkin a little longer. Add Saunders, the Lemieux/ Stevens winner maybe Eubank and GGG could end up waiting another year or more.

On the other hand, let's talk about what it means if the expected happens, which is a (shudder)... Canelo victory.
Let's be real here. What POSSIBLE excuse could Golden Boy and Canelo have now for avoiding a showdown with GGG?? I mean, these guys used every excuse in the book, from letting the fight (cough)... "marinate", to laughingly saying that Canelo was too small for 160 (obviously I must've missed some math classes in school, 'cause I always thought that
164.5 > 160
Of course, Canelo and his people will be praying that GGG loses to Jacobs, 'cause they'll be off the hook. Wait.... unless Jacobs then calls out Canelo, in which case GDP will have to come up with a whole new set of excuses.![]()

i would guess if they are not going to fight golovkin within a couple of fights after this one( i suspect they will take on bjs before golovkin) then alvarez will be taking on the mexican champ at super middleweight and sell it as another mexican grudge match then keep jumping around random/ made up weightclasses
Surprisingly, the undercard is solid. It would be a very good free fight card. The main event is nowhere near PPV worthy though.
