Regardless of what money he's earned and what he's invested it in if you're gambling a million dollars plus on sports games or whatever it's a matter of time till you're broke. And he's got his lifestyle to maintain at the same time. Once somebody like Floyd starts living a certain lifestyle, million dollar cars and whatnot, he's got to keep spending at that rate so he doesn't lose face amongst his peers.
I'm pretty sure Floyd has an Aboriginal understanding of money and numbers -- one, two, many. As long as he has "many" dollars in the bank he's going to keep spending at his current rate no matter how fast he's blowing through it. It's only once he gets down to one or two dollars in the bank that we'll see him fight again. When he unretired to fight JMM he was owing millions in tax and was having his cars repossessed. I wonder if he's had the absolute minimum foresight/advice to put enough aside to pay his tax bills for his last fights. Surely he's at least done that.
75 a year would have him broken within a decade if he was just living off the interest. Don't forget hes poised to make his money off the backs of other fighters now. Mikey Garcia, Badou Jack and others for right now. Same reason Douche la hoya hasn't been flushed his entire fortune up his nose yet. This isn't tyson who had a king figure scamming him while he was making his fortune or a Mosely who lost it all in one fell swoop when his chick cleaned him out. What could be said of smart men before is probably standard practice now a days... They don't go bankrupt, their companies do. Getting incorporated is a pretty common step now in separating your personal finances from your business finances, so someone suing your company will be hard pressed to find a way to touch your personal money. That's why 50's company declared bankruptcy but hes still a millionaire.
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.

Crikey, and there was Johnny Depp spending 2 million per month.
Floyd just wants to be Undisputed GOAT at spending as well
I don't believe it for a minute. How could you even spend 75 million a year? Why would a man so obsessed with accumulating money just burn through it all without a second thought? I don't like Floyd as a fighter because I think he picked and chose too much, but that also shows his savvy. He's not completely stupid.
Boxer Floyd Mayweather has £120,000 worth of belongings stolen in burglary at his Las Vegas mansion
Boxer Floyd Mayweather had over £120,000 worth of belongings stolen after thieves broke into his home over the weekend.
The undefeated fighter was away from his mansion in Las Vegas as he celebrated his 40th birthday in Los Angeles, where he was joined by celebrity friends Justin Bieber and Mariah Carey.
Mayweather is listed as the victim in a burglary report for a home he owns in a gated community next to a golf course.
According to police, thieves forced a door open to break in before stealing several belongings, including one of his expensive watches.
He had been seen sat court side at a Los Angeles Lakers basketball game on Sunday against the San Antonio Spurs leading investigators to suspect his movements were being monitored on social media.
Mayweather, known as Money, was the world’s highest-paid sportsman before he retired from the ring.
He is estimated to be worth around £300 million while rumours are currently swirling he may box again to take on UFC star Conor McGregor in £80 million showdown.
