Leonard consciously fought flat-footed. He has stated that several times and if you watch the fight you can clearly see it. The second fight was Leonard fighting his usual fight and not getting involved in any macho games. He moved and boxed and Duran could not cope. Had he decided not to stand and trade in the first fight, there's not a chance, in my eyes, that Leonard would have lost. The fact that leonard almost won while standing his ground just proves how unimpressive Duran's victory was.
