Maybe not. But Lacy wasn't stopped either

Any fighter that loses has excuses. The point is , if MAB wanted his rematch , no one would argue cos of his excuses. Jeff has excuses and yet he is called ridiculous ? It doesn't make sense to me. MAB has run for his life from a rematch with PAC . Jeff wants back on the horse within a year's time. It should be commended not condemned .Again , what do you want from your fighters?

The difference in my opinion is Barrera has earned his stripes if you will, he has been in many wars won and lost, to great fighters over a long competitive career. Lacy finally steps up a level in competition fights Calazaghe and is beat down cut and dry . I love Lacy, but the kid got beat down thoroughly. now he needs to rebuild and get credibility back. Earn his way back like everyone else in the game of boxing , hopefully over time he will earn his stripes . or not? time will tell.

Ok that was probably one of the most ridiculously ignorant posts I have ever read...Since you are an expert on how many people Lacy didnt give a rematch to....Tell me professor how many asked for one Also Lacy feels like he could of done better cant fault him for that..Not to mention he has only 1 loss and was a World Champion..Not like he is a Journeyman who has like 10 losses...By the way Professor have you checked Lacy's world Ranking? He still is pretty high not to mention Alot of Boxers have granted rematches that have made for some of the best fights and led to some great trilogies

Yea Lacy is a Bum, and Calzaghe is looking forward to bigger and better things Cause Bika is a World beater

Lacy sounds like Klitschko Again Lacy is still ranked high and considered a Contender in the SuperMiddleweight division and has more upside than Bika...

DO some research before you post or remove your head from your a**

By the way who is " THEY" ?

JT, you are one of the more informed posters on the site. We all know the Shonan game. Probably sniffing the cocaine off his boyfriends arse again.

That has absolutely no relevance whatsoever. If Lacy wants a rematch then almost everyone in history who got pounded will want a rematch. Also,he needs to show he deserves it,he needs to show what he can do better,so at least take a few tune ups.

Also, and no one has answered this, why does he deserve a rematch? What would he do differently? Would JC get any credit for beating him? Not much,he did not get much credit in the first place. It's a lose lose for Calzaghe.

I'm sorry, are there still people out there who believe that Lacy has anything to gain by fighting Joe again What he will be a winner because he steps into the ring with someone who did that to him or that this time he may win a round? That really is a sad state of affairs, sure he'll do better, but then he couldn't do much worse.
What has Joe got to gain from this fight? Money? But then all those people out there who were having a pop at him for not progressing with his career think that he should re-match someone who he p*ssed all over. Geez, Robin Reid has a better shout at a re-match. In terms of credability, Joe couldn't do the job any better than he did the first time around.
Do people remember the sh*t Lacy and his fans were talking before the fight, it was just plain disrespectful. How he was gonna take the belt and how Joe was a slapper. The only thing he took was an ass whipping. Joe kept his head down and did what he said he would. Now Jeff has the sheer "balls" to start trying to talk smack again, and even worse his supporters are trying to justify it. If I was Joe, anytime Lacy made any comment about me, I'd just refer him to a copy of the first fight. You talk smack before the fight, not after.

Yeah but you can@t compare MAB with Lacy. People want to see the re-match because they "know" MAB's quality and believe that it must have been an off night. Beside's MAB is a intelligent fighter/boxer and his tactics will change in a re-match. Lacy is a limited fighter who had relied on his strength to blast out opponents and his supreme self-confidence. I really don't see how he can change his style.
Also to the earlier post, while Gatti was pull out by his corner, there were a lot of us who were shouting that LAcy's corner should have pulled him out. He gained nothing from the last few rounds, only the chance of being KOed

Well again I believe if he fights a couple of impressive fights this year with solid comp this fight can be made.....I being the biggest Lacy promoter knows he needs to be impressive again before he is calling out Joe..

Don't be foolish Jeff Knows what he has to do before he gets a rematch, rightnow he is just planting the seeds..

Yeah I believe Jeff has something to gain fighting Joe again . . . . brain damage !

I hope to see Joe box live before he retires . I really became a fan of his that night . He didnt try and box when he had it in the bag . He sent out a message to the other high flyers in the world on how to win on points . I just wish he wasnt fighting this nobody next time . Id even like to see him fight the Latin Snake or someone whos atleast known just to add to his legacy . Ive got nothing against a Lacy rematch either . I reckon Joe would stop him next time
