Yea but with there being no more time for them and so much money to get out of it hard not to do it. I mean they got kids to make sure they set up and as Cotto and Jmm have no more real income after this career is over.
Agreed but a man better be focused on his kids and a plan B from the start. These fells won the Mayweather and Manny sweepstakes also . If anything Cotto has been afforded all the time and profitable scenarios he could ever hope for to be honest. Far more than most. He's fine. It's Marquez being shopped around as a scalp to make him look good. Marquez was fighting a CW with a torn up Spr. lightweight in Alvarado last out and no doubt promotion is counting on him needing the coin, or chasing the glory. Purely on size and time away it would be a farce imo. Years ago I remember talk of pension plans, regulations and some Federal oversight for fighters who keep plugging on as opponents just to pay the bills..guess in a way don't we all..but we're not taking punches. It's a damn shame really, especially for Marquez who was so under the radar early in career but one of the top fighters in the game even then.
