If we are talking notable welters (long reigning champs like Mayweather is considered) then there are even more to add. ive just looked at floyds record to try and justify what I just said and im not sure its quite as impressive as its made out to be

Look it up yourself. It should all be there as fighters weighed in on the day of the fight back then. I'd say there was a 4-5 pound difference for Gavilan & Napoles from their opponents. I think the difference between present day weight cutting/day before weigh-ins, and the disparity between contract weight and fight night weight is extremely relevant if you're going to compare these fighters from eras gone by and contemporary fighters.
Would anyone agree?
