Ha, this ain't a birthday drink, its a standard Thursday drink, I just can't really afford it.

people at work were horrified today when I said that I wasn't doing anything at all for my birthday, they said 'well will your mom n dad pop round and see you, are you gunna go out for a drink with any of your mates, and you going to go out on the weekend' etc

the answer is a resounding NO, not because I'm miserable but just because its another day to me, I don't feel the need to celebrate it, I don't see it as a milestone, I'm one day further away from my birth and one day closer to my death, the only difference between today and tomorrow is that tomorrow I will be one day further away from my birth and one day closer to my death.

If my birthday was yesterday I would have spent it drinking coffee and reading a book but it just so happens to have fallen on my unofficial drinking night.

my family have never made a big thing about birthdays, in fact I don't think I've so much as had a text of me mom to wish me happy birthday, my sister came around to see me yesterday cuz she got her days mixed up and I kicked her out of my flat after 15 minutes cuz one of her kids nearly smashed my banjo
