While it seems to fit people's political agenda to pretend that Assad has nothing to do with chemical attacks on his own civilian population that does nothing to remove the horror of children being gassed to death in their sleep. Many would have you believe that inaction is somehow the humanitarian and just response to what is happening right now in Syria and that there are only really two choices. Do nothing or send Missiles raining down on a corrupt regime. That is simply not true. To pretend that John Kerry or Obama have some how engineered a situation that has been allowed to flourish under the tacit support of Iran, China and Russia is both hypocritical and morally redundant. These are regimes that routinely use brutality and murder to eradicate dissent. Things may be changing though. Iran has a new leader, and it is early days, but he could well be more moderate than the last. Withdrawing his support for Assad will make a huge difference to the balance of power in the region and at least allow the country to decide it's own fate. It is the easy route to suggest that that entire rebel army are militant Islamic extremists and therefore we should be paralysed into inaction and just watch as people are butchered. The reality is much more complicated and will only be solved once factors like Russia supplying the regime with massive firepower is resolved. People are afraid of World War 3 happening and seem to suggest that doing nothing is an option. I can not subscribe to such a view. Intervention does not have to mean Military their are diplomatic, humanitarian and intelligence lead ways of engineering situations. While it is not for those outside a country to decide who should win a civil war and govern it there is a strong case to be made for not standing idly by as other countries arm a government and support the brutalisation and murder of it's own civilian populace.

Why? I am not the one making outlandish claims ? That is the role of weapons inspectors and intelligence officers far more knowledgeable than you or I. Yourself, Miles and Alex Jones have a dog in this fight. A vested interest that would suit you all to paint the west as a conspirational culprit for the war crimes of Assad. You are expecting people to believe that Obama and Kerry want a war because it feeds into your own ridiculous narrative. The question is not who used chemical weapons but what are people going to do about the resulting humanitarian crisis and the millions of refugees displaced by it? Funnily enough you and Miles NEVER mention the leading role the UK and others play in this and in pushing for peace talks ? All it ever is is excuses for complete paralysis and doing nothing but blaming anyone but Assad, Russia, China or Iran.
