Definetely not Duran-Leonard. Simply because Leonard conciously fought him flat-footed to prove a point and still almost won. Had Leonard fought the way he did in the second fight, the way he always fights, he'd have beaten Duran at a canter.

We're talking about a mover like Leonard standing his ground against someone like Duran. Not impresive at all on Duran's part. Very much in the same way that Chris Byrd wouldn't be nearly as effective if he decided to stand and trade.

Still amazes me why anyone gives Duran so much credit for that win.
Gimme a break. Whenever a man defeats an undefeated, favored, #1 p4p fighter in the world, in the prime of his youth, saying it isn't impressive only points out the fact what a hater you are
A hater? I'm not a Duran hater. It's fact that Leonard said before the first fight that he would fight Duran toe to toe. It's a measure of your inability to engage in a proper discussion that you would label someone a hater for stating an opinion backed up by indisputable facts.

Here's one link I could find, but I believe the full quote was from Sugar Ray Leonard: Beyond The Glory or a documentary similar to that. Perhps the Legendary Nights series, although that didn't cover Leonard-Duran.

"Depends who, if you have seen Leonard fights you should know that he was a dancer. Leonard said before fight to journalist that he will fight flat-footed and knock-out Duran. And he tried just that. Saying that Duran forced Leonard to fight flat-footed is pretty dumb statement.

About Duran being stronger than Leonard, i don't think that those who really knew how good Duran was thought that Leonard has chance if he fights inside.
No doubt that Ferdie Pacheco & (showtime?) commentators knew it, during fight they say many times similiar to:

'i just couldn't believe this. I can not believe that Leonard would come out and fight Duran like he was fighting Pete Ranzany!!'"
