Feels like I walked into an AJ fan club meeting. Sure Joshua can win but lets be realistic, the questions on both at this stage are reasonable. Like @El Kabong said this is a crossroads fight in the truest sense.
Boxing is the classic "who do you want to win..... alright now who do THINK is going to win" sport.
I want AJ to KTFO Wlad in the worst way.
First, I blame Wlad for single-handedly killing much of the interest in the heavyweight division, not just in the States, but in many other places as well (except Germany and Ukraine). Also, I would place down a hefty bet that Wlad isn't going to win a straight-up classic, heavyweight fight by outboxing and outpunching AJ in a memorable fight. He'll either foul him to death and then catch him with a sneaky punch over AJ's frustrated guard.... or AJ will become to greedy and forget his defense in the first couple of rounds and get caught.
Either way, Wlad has more of a chance than some people are giving him credit for.
Best thing Wlad can do is stink this out for a few rounds and see..find out..where AJ truly is mentally as 'the next coming'. At the end of the day it's again all coming down the Wlads chin and how he supposedly gets sparked when bumping his beard with an electric razor. Tons of questions about Joshua stamina and approach in this one and if ever there was a heavyweight who taxes you, it's Wlad. He can maul, drape on your back and bind a guy up inside. The muscles to worry about with AJ may not be on the shoulders but his legs and keeping him in place midway. He's not terribly hard to miss being honest. Personally I like AJ tempered steamroll tko inside of 6 and we turn the page on this division. Then everyone turns around and calls Wlad shot. But you never ever underestimate experience, or fail to recognize a massive step up.
I didn't pick a winner I made a point about the lazy cliche way we view form, positives/negatives etc (a thread for non-divs, non-dullards and non-cliche spouting bores).
From a betting perspective I can build a very strong case for Wlad being a good bet by KO at 7/2. Or even 2/1 for the win.
3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.
if you fancy Wlad to win, or even if you're a Wlad fan, those odds are like Gold dust. A guy with all the experience and pedigree he has must have a chance of winning.
personally I don't think it will happen, but it's certainly a possibility.
just seen Bet 365 offering 9/4 for a Wlad win. it almost makes me wish I fancied his chances.
