Oh well, no pictures in my post. How did you insert those pictures, Lyle?
Anyway, back on the subject. There's nothing wrong with a new, beautifully engineered and high tech Mercedes. I like Mercs, and quite like a lot of the new cars out there these days.
Having said that, I grew up in Detroit so I really love the old Yank muscle cars and Mopars. Stuff like the Pontiac GTO, Dodge Charger, Plymouth Fury and the old Camaro's really do it for me. Seeing how people take care of and love these old classics is nice too.
When I was a child, I told my mother I was going to have a 1969 Stingray, and I opened my first bank account with 10 cents when I was about 10 years old. Quite some time later, that savings account bought me my 1969 Corvette Stingray .... convertible, with massive chrome sidepipes!
Most younger people get really screwed on car insurance in the U.K., and they just can't afford to get very nice cars. They end up with tiny engined Clios or Fiestas and then try to pimp them up with cool headlights etc to make them look more sporty.
I don't mind at all, and I always compliment them and admire their car...... at least they love their car and gave it some character rather than making do with one of those horrific, joy sapping pieces of boxy shit that most average manufacturers produce!

Well I HAD been clicking the little 'insert image' button but apparently something happened to that
You had a Stingray eh? Like this fella

That's a badass car right there!
Youngsters get screwed on Auto Insurance all the time.....it's because they suck at driving and they're in horrible accidents because they get too much car waaaaaay too soon. That said, when I was younger I still wanted a badass old school muscle car, but the way things worked out I had an '83 BMW 318i......I enjoyed driving that, I did not however enjoy driving the 1992 Ford Escort which replaced that, piece of SHIT.
The pictures are not working but love the Ford Mustang GT from the film "Bullitt" starring Steve McQueen. Dark green beauty.![]()

I'm building a gt500 eleanor which a brand new body from dynacorn suspension from cpp, car going up on barret jacksson whenever it's ready, i just placed the order for the body and parts which will be around 6-12 months delivery time which is insane but still a good project and working with brand new stuff makes things a lot easier.
Was going to post the exact same thing. Could be because all the ol man drove was Mustangs until 94'. Seems they changed for the sake of 'keeping up' and staying modern and lost what made them great. I turned my nose up at a 65' Fastback because I wouldn't take the weekends of one summer to work on it. Pop gave it to my older sister for graduation..she wrecked it month later. Never forget that
Minus the killer fat tires and racing stripes, very similar here

A friend of mine had that same car, same color even. He decided he could work on it himself and it caught fire. I had a 1964 1/2 Mustang with 87000 miles on it. The car was all original, an absolute beast. Alas, I lost it, indiscretions and being up to no good, and the police got it.
Thats a seriously beautiful immaculate car. Mine isn't that nice! I think, looking at the hood, that it's a big block, whereas mine is a small block 350.
i don't agree that youngsters suck at driving and get cars too soon. I had my first car at 17 and I definitely sucked at driving .... I don't see why some poor guy or gal nowadays gets so screwed compared to what I did.
'83 BM is a nice car, '92 Escort not so much 😀
