There's seemingly a dearth of good true leaders in this day and age....some of that is due to the 24/7 news cycle (nobody who is a true leader would cope well with that) and some is due to the scheming and plotting of groups invisible to the cameras of those news organizations.

Everyone who leads now is either handicapped because they are independent going against the grain or is being blackmailed by the power brokers behind the scenes.

You think Corbyn is one of them? That's the point about Corbyn and why they hate him. He cannot be bought. He genuinely cares.

Actually, I agree with you. Corbyn does care and he is a believer who has not changed his policies of principles for 40 years. I've never thought he was fake or false (apart from his obvious recent media coaching)

I suspect that he may be quite intolerant or dismissive of anybody who doesn't think like he does, as that is the general behaviour of all true believers

I happen to think his beliefs are not the same as mine, so I think he is simply wrong..... but I completely accept he is genuine in his beliefs.

I also think when it comes to rich people their ideas tend to also be quite inflexible and thus the policies they vote for only enhance themselves and make society more unequal.

It's time the left showed a little back bone and stopped catering to the intolerance of a small group of rich people who are really only a very small portion of the population.

That's what you are getting with Corbyn. Nope, he is unlikely to be flexible on Facebook paying bugger all in taxes or a rich nob hiding money in tax havens despite earning it in the UK. He probably is quite dismissive of those people who have been taking the piss. About time say most sensible, not so greedy people.

Beautiful attributes to have but he's weak. There's a huge reason guys like Stalin we're leaders for so long....he was tough! Nobody wanted to guck with that guy!

Corbyn isn't weak. You must be reading the propaganda rags to be getting that idea. I think you are confusing democratic with weak.

Corbyn is beautiful right now. The message is getting out there, the policies are strong and he is showing he has has strength, vision and hope. May meanwhile has awful policies and won't engage in debate or with the public. This should be a landslide Labour win.

Conservatives' lead halved ahead of election - Survation poll

Prime Minister Theresa May's Conservatives' lead over the opposition Labour Party halved to 9 percent in a Survation telephone poll published on Monday, adding to signs that the election race is tightening ahead of the June 8 vote.

The poll put the Conservatives on 43 percent, down 5 percentage points from a May 15 poll, with Labour at 34 percent, a reported rise of 5 points due to rounding. The research was conducted on May 19 and 20 after the release of the Conservative and Labour manifestos.

Although May's centre-right party remains well in front of their leftist rivals, several recent polls showing a narrowing gap suggest that expectations of a landslide victory for the Conservatives may need to be lowered.

Senior Conservative ministers on Sunday defended proposals to reduce state support offered to elderly voters despite concerns that it could undermine support among ageing, wealthy homeowners - a core source of Conservative votes.

The poll showed that respondents were more likely to say that Labour, rather than the Conservatives, had the best policies for older people and pensioners, as well as young people and the state-funded healthcare service. The Conservatives were seen as stronger on the economy and Brexit.

May called the snap election to increase the 17-seat working majority she had in parliament and secure a public mandate for her negotiating strategy as Britain prepares to begin talks on leaving the European Union.

At the time the election was called, poll leads in excess of 20 percent had suggested she could deliver the largest Conservative victory since Margaret Thatcher won a 144-seat majority in 1983.

Monday's Survation poll showed the Liberal Democrats and the UK Independence Party (UKIP) were unchanged at 8 percent and 4 percent respectively.

The Conservatives have done a disservice by making their platform as harsh as Labour's is soft fluffy, and completely unrealistic. But hey, you guys get out there, vote for the best person to run your nation if it's Theresa May that's great, if it's Father Christmas...I mean Jeremy Corbyn, that's likewise great!
