It might be Golden Boy trying to raise Lemieux's stock. A win over a name like Cotto, especially an explosive KO gets people talking.

But would Cotto allow himself to be a stepping stone suddenly. He's been on the gravy train with either tailor made styles, circumstances to make himself look devastating or losing to very top guys. Lemieux is all risk little reward to me. Be interesting to see if Lemieux makes the card as HBO as had a fondness for him.
Looks like Cotto has signed a 4 fight deal with Golden Boy? Seems like that's assuming a lot having not fought in a year and a half.
And the first fight of the GBP deal is a nice easy tuneup on a very rare and valuable HBO date. Do GBP still have options on JMM? I have a feeling two of the three fights are going to be Mexico-Puerto Rico HBO moneyspinners against in house opposition or as good as and then Cotto rides off into the sunset. I can't see Fishnets putting him in against somebody like Charlo to get battered for no money
I heard Marquez had injured himself again so he may be out for awhile longer. I can see him being one of Cotto's fights. Trout might be on the cards if he takes Hurd's belt.
This is the real boxing match this weekend and should be what we will be discussing. It is on box nation.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
I'll for sure watch it but I was never too interested in the fight to begin with. Cotto is long past his best and Kamegai really isn't that great. It has potential to be a fun fight but at his age, I doubt Cotto will want to really engage at all.
Gonzales v Julio on in a 10 rounder
Vargas v Rio's on now
Yeah I read that he was going to have one last fight in December and then retire, I hope that is what he does, the bloke has had a great career and surely he's got himself enough money to live comfortably now.
