Have to say I've read it now and apparently it's the Forbes rich list, so I should believe it......but I don't.
didn't somebody say in another topic that Dana White takes 80% of his cut?
That would be closer to the mark. Probably some kind of tax fiddle.
Btw, Wlad's earnings are pretty impressive considering he didn't set foot in the ring in 2016.

At least Floyd is off the list for the first time in 15 years.

Even if that's true his earnings are based on three fights and he's the biggest UFC star by miles. Canelo, Wlad, and AJ's figure is based on one fight. Canelo is about to do a million+ PPV fight in Vegas to go with his $28m. Bear in mind Tony Bellew got more for one fight than the 2nd highest UFC star. There are literally dozens of boxers that are currently on 7-figure purses per fight.

    Top 10 2016 Earners - http://thesportsdaily.com/mma-manife...mma-earners-2/

    Conor McGregor* $7,770,000
    Ronda Rousey $3,030,000
    Nate Diaz* $2,690,000
    Brock Lesnar $2,255,000
    Alistair Overeem $1,884,500
    Dan Henderson* $1,540,000
    Anderson Silva* $1,285,000
    Robbie Lawler $1,130,000
    Stipe Miocic* $1,075,000
    Dominick Cruz $1,020,000

McGregor was in a league of his own when it came to earning power in 2016. In addition to more than doubling the next richest fighter in purse money, he received a cut of three of the four biggest pay-per-views in UFC history. While the Irishman estimated that he would make $40 million in 2016, it’s safe to say that he at least cleared $20 million in the calendar year. His claim of making $25 million for just UFC 202 is a much harder sell, but it’s not crazy to think McGregor could one day get there. According to Badenhausen, the UFC’s first ever two-division champion raked in $18 million in fight pay from June 2015 to June 2016, which includes his bout at UFC 196.
