    Default Another PBF topic

I've been watching some of PBF's older fights on youtube and I have to say I think that he has the best left elbow in the history of boxing.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

what like u mean his defence , like the shell style rolling the shoulder and leaning away from the punches?
its a pretty slick style near impossible to master!! and he does rock at it... and i think there are downsides to it tho.... one- when your too close and you wants to separate them you tend to have the reaction of kinda puting your elbow out and pushing them away... a few people keep telling me he throws elbows so i have to explain to them....
and also at the higher wieghts hes got caught by some of the fighters with more awkward styles...
but it is a really great thing when your good like floyd is.. it appears that his chin is unprotected and when they shoot you roll the shoulder and lean away etc and come back with a right hand counter
its really great to watch floyd - phillip ndou when ndou is flurrying with all he has while floyd is against the ropes making him mist every single shot and the crowd is going wild thinking floyd is getting over powered or something... but not one of about 20 punches landed...

The refs don't usually call it, its a good tactic if they don't call it, gives him room to get off with punches.

    lol cheers bro backatcha :P
its a pretty sweet tactic to use but your average fighter cant pull it off... i tease people with it in sparring and get clocked with a right hand at least once every round :P...
its great though makes em angry cos they thing your taking the piss becuase you look so wide open and its more of a trap

i remember it was time i use get on here and talk about PBF and how cool i thought the shoulder role was and people on here would act like they didn't know what i talking about. now it seems like every other topic is PBF. i remeber in the summer of 2005 before my leap of absense on this site there were all these people tellin me how PBF was gonna lose to gatti. its nice to see theres alot more PBF fans on here now.

I love watching fighters use the shoulder roll, Toney, PBF, Hopkins uses it a little. But I think Killersheep was talking about how PBF uses his left elbow to push off a little on the inside to get punching room, I don't know maybe I'm totally wrong

The ref called it in the Corrales fight, so then Mayweather used his fist for the left hook instead, didn't help Corrales that much

ner its not illegal use... he can be warned about it... cso he doesnt snap it out it jus pushes it out fairly slowly and makes room to shoot from angles!!

That was more of love for Gatti and hate for Mayweather then smart betting because they were praying that Gatti would land that ONE HARD SHOT to beat Mayweather.

You know.. what sells is its the "Maybe the one guy we never thought would beat Mayweather can beat him." Same purpose goes for the Baldomir fight.
