Who is more worried about property values than human life? If I lose my house I don't get a free pass to move into Beverly Hills, that's not how things work. Insurance is there to help make whole people who have suffered a loss. Moving from Grenfell Tower to a "luxury flat" is above and beyond "making whole" AND all I did was say you cannot and should not be able to coerce anyone into selling something they own just because of your feelings.....property rights don't work that way.

Well #1 My first post was calling smashup dumb for doing the whole "Jet fuel can't melt steel beams" nonsense #2 my 2nd post in total was (and I quote) "So I know that these folks weren't the best off to start with but did they not have Renter's Insurance? Typically that covers "Loss of Use" which is certainly covered in the case of a fire. Granted that's not for like extended stays in other places, but it's enough to get you to a new place.....probably hard in such a big city, but typically actuaries take that into account with premium prices and the like"...but YOU find that to be offensive, YOU and nobody else. Nobody else commented about how offended they were THAT I ASKED A FUCKING QUESTION!

I know it was a tragedy and yes insurance is there for such tragedies not only would/should the CITY of London had insurance on the entire fucking building BUT individuals living at the property will have (if this is on the up and up) been REQUIRED BY LAW to have something called 'Renters Insurance' which would provide for...as I've been apparently telling the brick wall that lives inside your skull....LOSS OF USE which would cover temporary housing but "That is all offensive bollocks"....yes making sure that the poor aren't taken advantage of or set up for failure is "That is all offensive bollocks".

Would the people who are shifted in there get it rent free forever or would they get it at the same rates they were paying before, would it be at a discounted rate for only a certain period of time?

I mean it is a bit shitty for Joe Bloggs up the road who's house burns down and he is out of his ear through no fault of his own without the offer of a luxury apartment, its also a wee bit shitty for the neighbours who pay full whack on their rent knowing that loads of people are being moved in rent free or with a massive discount.
