Many people consider Sanchez and atg; Castillo does not. This is a close fight and you can make a case for Castillo and Ruben swears he won. How do you rate Castillo, who only lost to Chavez, Arguello, Sanchez, top guys?

Sanchez was just 23 when he died and a resume that included two wins over Lopez, a win over Juan Laporte and KO wins over legends Wilfredo Gomez and Azumah Nelson. IMO only Nelson may have beaten him had he lived. I think Sanchez would've beaten Chavez and by the time Whitaker arrived Sanchez would've only been in his late 20's. Boxing fans were deprived of one of the greats. It took Castillo two fights to beat 5 - 9 - 0 Kelvin Lampkin less than a year after fighting Sanchez. Everyone has an off night hey Ruben?
If you are going to belittle Ruben Castillo, why did he give Sanchez such a hard fight? Did you watch it?
Check out Sanchez vs Eliseo Cosme. Sanchez beat a green Nelson-and he never was all that- a shot Gomez, a waaay shot Lopez and a LaPorte that never was.
Sanchez did also struggle with Pat Cowdell and only won via a split decision whereas a seasoned Asumah Nelson annihilated Cowdell in a round.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
You mean the "green" Nelson who was undefeated Commonwealth champion at age 24? The shot undefeated 14 time defending Super Bantam Weight champion 32-0-1 24 year old Wilfredo Gomez? You know the bloke who went on to defend that title another 4 more times before winning the World Featherweight title? The waaay shot Danny Lopez who had not lost in the previous 5 years, defending his title 9 times prior to fighting a 21 year old Sanchez? Gee Salvador Sanchez was some shit fighter to be beating all these green and over the hill hacks? What a shame he never became seasoned?
Sanchez is a very good fighter, that was an enjoyable watch.

Sanchez was a brilliant fighter I remember the Gomez fight it was war and the Nelson fight,! pity he died so young you would have to say he was outstanding.
Ruben Castillo was a hell of a fighter as well.
