It's Paulie. Maybe he is asking him to hit him with his best shots. It's not Lemieux or Joshua, it's Paulie. You would presume that although Paulie may keep himself fit he is not going to be anywhere near the level of an active fighter in any discipline, and if that is at the end of a long spar then it is quite realistic. There is not really any boxer out there that is going to prepare you for Floyd even if you are a seasoned boxer yourself so it is academic anyway. Maidana is the blueprint and that is the only sensible way for McCregor to approach this. Make it messy and unpredictable, forget about clean shots and trying to box, balance on that edge and don't get yourself DQd but lean on him, hug him, spin him, give him a bit of his own elbow medicine, but thrown properly and put the fear of the rabid madmen into his head.

It will be over quick one way or the other and could be a lot of fun.

Well, if Conor simply beat Paulie up he has no clue how to run a championship camp. Because after the session he invited Paulie to stay through the entire camp. That isn't what you do if you just easily beat a guy up. You keep a guy through an entire camp if you get good work as Paulie said.

According to Paulie, there's a method to Connor's madness: https://www.mmafighting.com/2017/7/2...conors-madness

In the article, Pailie seems to say that McGregor has an interesting plan, something that, apparently, will detonate from what we normally see (bringing with him some elements from his MMA background and stuff). I think that it makes sense that they'll try something totally unorthodox to fight Floyd as there is not a single chance in hell that using the conventional boxing, he could do anything meaningful in the King's court on his very own set of rules.
It's a good idea to try something totally "mad" that could perhaps surprise Floyd. That's their best chance, if that's true that they try something totally new, I top them my hat for trying it but I still believe it will be too little to win a fight against a Floyd that will just do as usual; take no chances at all.

I agree with what has been said before, if mcgreggor had got the better of Pauli we'd have stories and probably a video

Instead all we're hearing is that it's staying private

Somebody said it in another thread but it's worth mentioning again. There are boxers who have had a ton of amateur success and have been boxing for years before turning pro. Even they still start off with fighting lesser opposition at the beginning of their careers. There are very few fighters who can make the jump from amateur to professional and become a top guy within 10 fights. And not one of them fights a top guy their first fight.

So does anybody actually think Conor has any sort of chance whatsoever? Sure, he has sparred to train for MMA so he isn't completely incompetent, but he is nowhere near the boxer as an Olympian. And even many of these olympians end up totally failing during their careers.

Even if Conor is super talented at boxing and is a natural, he would still have to at least have a few fights under his belt to get used to the fight game and all of its intricacies. I don't care how naturally talented you are, you aren't beating Floyd in your first professional fight.

Paulie probably outboxed Colin and made him rethink his strategy to something unconventional as @Nameless suggested.
