The latest I heard after Salido wouldn't be ready in time and Farmer literally left for Africa was that it would be Rocky Martinez and he is and has been in camp preparing. So yes, a showcase fight.(although I don't particularly trust the source that said Rocky has been preparing)

Figure even a Martinez would be let known by now, name at least and ties to Loma, Salido etc. This is why the IBF is the shadiest as they always maintain number 1 or 2 rankings as "not rated". They could just ship Kenny Getup right in ffs.

The way this setup has gone I expect the toe stepping to go on until fight week. Like announce Davis's opponent the week of the Loma fight to try to get shine back on the circus. Announce Jack against ......... A week later to keep eyes on the freak show. I'm not paying for it so I don't care but I would like to see Davis and Jack have fights and good fights or at least decent fights. I don't think they will announce Davis opponent before Broner/Garcia because Floyd is part of the promotion but I wish they would.

Roman Martinez is listed on boxrec now so it appears I had this all right except that word is they will announce the whole undercard some time this week.

Both Jack and Davis need good fights. They will be showcased in front of millions and millions of people. Maybe Floyd understands that a majority of the people ordering the fight will be non boxing fans so both of his guys fighting bums to make them look good is a good thing.
