I was really hoping that Floyd would put together a good undercard. We all assumed Jack and Davis would be on it but I'm not impressed by their opponents. Davis is fighting an unknown and Jack is fighting a washed up fighter.

Agreed big time. I don't know if Cleverly is exactly washed up, but I don't think he'd ever have had a good style for this one. The guy Davis is fighting could be good Still, for such a mega cash grab of a card you'd at least expect a couple of interesting fights on it.

Are they releasing bad footage of Floyd training to help sell the idea of the upset? I have yet to see one thing where he doesn't look stiff, slow and lazy. Like showing bad footage then when cameras go off he's busting ass and smooth, strong and fast.

I just have a hard time believing someone that has been in the gym that long can see this stuff and think it is good work. But we have seen old fighters repeatedly not realize how crap they are now. So I don't know if it is for show or if Floyd is shot to shite

Well he has been off for like 2 years and he's old so I'm sure he has slowed quite a bit. As I have always said though, Floyd would in no way make this fight if he weren't 100% sure he would win.

Maybe it was his plan all along to fight mcgregor for his 50th. I can see it.

Floyd: I want to make my 50th win a comeback from retirement fight.
Whoever: but Floyd, that's a long layoff and you will slow down a ton. You may lose your 0!
Floyd: not if I box someone who has never boxed before.

Call me a conspiracy theorist but i'm sure the bookies want you to splash your cash on Gregory to reign in the zillions.

Another wacky idea is that Paulie who rubs shoulders with people in the media who rub shoulders with the promoters who rub shoulders with the bookies who rub shoulders with media could play a nice part of espionage in getting paulie involved with sparring with Gregory so he can look bad in sparring then a video is leaked to make the public think that Gregory has a chance to get people to place more bets on Gregory then reigning it in when Gregory gets a severe beating.

Or Mayweather is being fooled by Paulie where Paulie meets with Mayweathers camp without anybody knowing and leaks some info on Gregorys tactics that is a complete lie so when fight night happens mayweather is expecting something totally different and Gregory wins by surprize.

    Its all bollox folks

Gregor has no chance.....Zero...Nothing...Not a bollock.. Not a bat out of hell.. No chance on the planet so spash your cash and have a laugh.

What case can be made for Conor McGregor to win this? He has age, is a southpaw, can punch,...

Floyd has been out of the ring for a while, older, not a big puncher, may take the fight for granted,...

Only recently realised it was Conor and not Colin.

Paulie should say this is a travesty and great mismatch.

Forgive me for writing the next sentence but I hope Floyd wins.

    Wow.

Knowing how you feel about Floyd, I know this must've been ridiculously difficult to type.

Let's be honest, Paulie isn't strong and he can't punch
His defence isn't that good either. He used to move a lot
And have a high punch output. He was never a skilled Boxer
People called him that because he couldn't punch and ran a lot
But he was never that good of a Boxer. Khan dominated him at Boxing
And Cotto dominated him at fighting so he fell well short in his prime.

Now he's a small man with no punch and a leaky defence
Who cares if Conor had his way with this guy? He's a nobody
Who else is Conor trainning with for this fight... People worse than Paulie!
Meanwhile Floyd is working with Judah, Corley, Spence and Eubank Jr
Mayweather is sparring better people than he'll be fighting for real.

Well said. If Connor had sparred and knocked down someone active and in their prime it would have meaning, but Malignaggi at this stage is pretty shot. That's why he has retired. If he wasn't he wouldn't be retired. Even in his prime he lost most of his big fights: Hatton, Cotto, Khan etc.

People like Paulie and I think that sometimes overshadows that he was a limited fighter and increasingly so once his legs and output started to go.

Paulie Malignaggi wants to fight Conor McGregor on St Patrick's Day to settle sparring saga - on one condition

Paulie Malignaggi wants to fight Conor McGregor on St Patrick's Day next year.

The former two-time world champion sparred the Irishman as he prepares to fight Floyd Mayweather on Saturday week.

But he left the training camp early after photos were released that painted him in a bad light.

A video was then posted on social media that appeared to show McGregor knocking Malignaggi down.

The American insists it was a push and admitted the feud has now reached breaking point.

When asked on The MMA Hour if he wanted the fight, he said: "Yeah. At this point? Yeah.

"When you don't like someone you don't spar them, you fight them.

"It's picked up a ton of momentum, the bad blood is there so let's fight.

"We'll need to see how he looks against Mayweather. If he looks dog s***, no one will want to see us fight.

"As long as he doesn't get the living s*** beaten out of him, I think the demand is there to make the fight."

St Patrick's Day falls on a Saturday next year and Malignaggi revealed he would target March 17.

He added: "I'm a businessman, once this all started coming out, my eyes went to the calendar when this thing started buzzing."
