Why was Buddy Baer never able to become the champ? Why were so many smaller fighters so much better? Dempsey, Charles, Walcott, La Starza, Joe Frazier, Floyd Patterson, Mike Tyson, etc.


I do think that smaller heavyweights will really make a comeback once guys who are a little taller 6'1-6'3 learn how to properly fight small and give off a smaller target the taller fighters have to reach for and then make them pay on the counter, or keep those tall guys on the back foot and punish them high and low and just never let them get a punch off that has any leverage to it.
