I truly want to believe in a superior being and an afterlife, but what little intelligence I have gets in the way of that - and what kind of creator would just leave you in the dark? One that doesn't know what the fack he/she is doin

Have you really done any research to find out how "in the dark" you are, or is this purely your own opinion?

Lets say for a moment that the little intelligence you have encompassed half of everything there was to know in the entire universe. Obviously this is ridiculous that you have that much knowledge, but lets just assume that for this example.

Is it possible that God could exist in the half that you don't know?

Is it possible that you are a creature that is only able to perceive 3 dimensions, but that more than 3 dimensions exist?

Are there colors you can't see?

Are there sounds that the human ear can't hear?

My point is that you are very limited in your abilities and making judgements based upon your very limited observations is niave. Most people that claim to be intelligent have no problem believing things they have never verified. They believe that there are other planets in our solar system, they believe that pluto exists, but they have never seen it themselves, they simply read it in a school book or were told by a teacher and they accepted it wholeheartedly never requiring the teacher to provide evidence to them, they simply took there word for it. It's humorous how much of your "intelligence" was acquired this way, but in the case of God, you would require mountains of evidence and a personal visit. When is your trip to pluto scheduled? When were you personally visited by Abe Lincoln, or any other historical figure you "believe" existed. Don't mistake "intelligence" for a conditioned response. You have been PROGRAMED not to believe in a creator, and you want to label it "intelligence". You call it what you want, but here's what the Creator calls it: Foolish

Where was god when I was a terrified 14 year old kid having his drug addicted father beat him senseless for no reason? Thats what I call left in the dark.... Family all around that can take you out of the situation but they let you rot for years and years, so if the rest of my family wouldn't do anything about it where was god? I was PROGRAMMED to believe IN god, but after realizing holy S***, if my family will let me rot and so will god - theres only me.....

There is a devil too. The Bible clearly says that the Earth is under control of the devil. You are stuck behind enemy lines, and you are caught in a war. The devil hates God and can't do anything to Him, so he goes for what He loves. You and every other human that was made in the "image" of God. You weren't left in the dark, God spent 2000 years of our time compiling 66 books penned by 40 different authors and has millions of His people walking around with the message that you can be "redeemed" or purchased out of the slave market of sin and death. All you have to do to receive the gift is ask God. You never have to attend church or do any other of the man made requirements. Would it interest you to know that the Book of Revelation is patterned after a hebrew eviction proceeding? The breaking of the seals, the opening of the scroll (title deed) to Earth. It is a legal eviction of a trespasser. Very interesting when you understand what the proceedures mean.
