Terence Crawford has vacated the IBF junior welterweight world title he won by knocking out Julius Indongo less than a fortnight ago.

Crawford matched a feat only Bernard Hopkins achieved by holding all four straps in a division when he stopped Indongo in the third round at the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Nebraska.

After unifying the WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO titles, the American has relinquished the IBF belt.

Crawford was facing a mandatory defence of the IBF title against Sergey Lipinets, with purse bids for that fight due on Thursday.

The 29-year-old opted to hand over the belt but kept hold of the other three straps as he considers his options.

Crawford announced after defeating Indongo that he plans to step up to 147lb in a bid to "conquer the welterweight division".

He'll be fighting Horn for the Top Rank belt.

If horn beat Pacquiao convincingly in a rematch, Crawford would destroy Horn. Although, I think that for Crawfords sake, beating Pacquiao would boost his status much more.

Well surely. But if Pacquiao wanted that sort of action we never would have seen Pac/Horn. Pac is retired, whether he fights on or not. Same as Floyd. They aren't top guys anymore and aren't interested in top guys.

Doesn't make financial sense for Floyd to risk his record
This fight wouldn't do big numbers as Crawford isn't a big name.
Crawford has plenty of options but why not beat the piss out of Horn
That's an easy paycheque for him if he's willing to travel down under.

Doesn't make financial sense for Crawford to travel to Australia and risk his record.....that doesn't make sense Horn is not a huge name himself.

Crawford can have PLENTY of easy paychecks it's just the case of does he want easy money or does he want to establish himself as a great fighter and calling out Floyd, landing that fight, being the one to end Floyd's unbeaten streak would accomplish that and then some.

Floyd certainly doesn't HAVE to do anything, but the whole "He's too good to fight ________, ________, or _______" argument is a very weak one. He was shitty enough to fight somebody with 0 pro bouts and 0 pro rounds soooo fighting a Prime undefeated boxer would indeed check off some boxes for proper fight fans and although it wouldn't draw in MMA fans or rabid Irish fans it would draw eyes because it would be a dangerous fight.
