It's not about Matchroom fighters, it's about having the clout behind you to get the big fights with nobody avoiding him. Like your mate in a rematch for example.

We would have made sense to sign for K2 for GGG rematch and Oscar for Canelo.

    Yeah, in your World.
    1. K2 may not want to sign him if they don't want the rematch.
    2. Why sign a rival to your top man? Lose, lose.
If GGG wins, you've signed someone with less future earning potential and if Jacobs wins, you've blown your top earner!
    Time for a rethink?

Jacobs, backed by HBO, Fast Eddie and Al. Kicking off this next chapter of his career by wasting his time against some bloke no ones ever heard of. #takingover

If anything looks like it gets him main event status. With Jarrell Miller . Not exactly an A+ card for hbo. Saw him originally on undercard of Wilder v Ortiz a week later.

He's fighting Arias in November. That's a pretty good fight.

Better he should just fight Lemieux right? Maybe get a gun, a contract and a pen and go make him sign right? Damn Jacobs for being turned down by all the top guys, cowardly of him to be turned down.

How does Matchroom give you more clout?

With the financial backing of Sky/Matchroom , fights can be made easier. They had enough financial muscle to tempt GGG to fight in the UK against a guy 2 weights below, so it's feasible that they can push through fights against Canelo or GGG imo.
until now, it's been all too easy for Canelo and GGG to ignore Jacobs and push him out of the picture, waiting on the sidelines for sometime never.

Speaking of ignoring Jacobs, throw Charlo in. And Charlo/Jacobs is quickly getting talk as I said months ago it would, knowing GGG, Canelo, Lemieux and BJS would have no interest in fighting 6'1 guys with power in both hands. Jacobs said he wants the top guys and was the first one to say Charlo's name without "I won't fight" attached. Charlo fired back that he's down. I'm rather sure we all suspect Canelo will go after BJS/Lemieux winner, if GGG won't fight Jacobs or Charlo that leaves those 2 to fight. Any way you slice it MW suddenly has many good possibilities between

    BJS
    Lemieux and the good fighters

    GGG
    Jacobs
    Charlo
    Canelo

Sucks Canelo is completely in charge of who fights whom.
