Call me sentimental but I do not want to see Linares get beat. I hope he carries on beating our British fighters and keeps making loads of money for pension fund.
I'm still not fully convinced of Mikey division up/division down thinking or coming back to defend trinket. Promotion wise it makes full sense though. I'm not ready to say he blows Linares out but advantages favor him heavily. I wouldn't mind a Linares v Easter jr unification fight. Fun style clash there.

Some of these other lightweight titlists need to get involved, Flanagan, Easter, nice glossy records. Easter is the only one to beat Shafikov pretty clearly. I think Garcia can make 135 without too much effort. After watching Linares last night I think Mikey will be feeling confident about that fight.

Same here and it's clearly on the table but the future for Mikey is moving up. Linares mega clash would be perfect spring board and I guarantee you he does better than Broner. I really think some of last night for Linares was 'look good tonight to look better tomorrow' but no disrespect to Campbell who fought his grapefruits off. Easter didn't fight the smartest fight with Shafikov as far as frame etc but good win.

No one has an easy night with Shafikov, even Barthelemy had a tough time. Sort of soured a little on Barthelemy after his last fight. Before that he could do no wrong.

Not a shining night for him and he often shoots himself in his own feet but love those loose awkward type guys with pop. Still think he got bit of a gift with Usmanee(?).

That dad stuff made me eyes pop out. It seems like a long time ago he was pulling out of bills because his dad was ill, now he fights in these circumstances. How we change with time

Always liked Usmanee, think he lost his drive and got disheartened after that fight and the one with Mendez.

Linares needs to fight Garcia if possible. Garcia went up to 140 because it was the best fight that could be made at the moment. Even if he doesn't plan on staying at 135, Garcia needs to at least fight Linares there.
