I really hope that someone better steps up to fight Spence next. There are a few fighters that could take the fight but don’t want to. How is it going to work when Crawford gets to 147? Are all of the welterweights going to completely avoid 2 fighters?

Definitely a decent enough opponent in Peterson to make initial defense and blow up the ratings. Crawford v Spence is the fight to make for me, just has to happen and completely viable 147 super fight! Bigger problem is Crawford under Arum and making it especially under Haymon. Spence is proving a wise man turning down GBP Cotto in some bs CW with conditions and pulling 3.5 here and aiming at relevant future threats.

I wasn't knocking it, I was just pointing out Master's hate of PPV.Hey, compared to what is classed as ppv nowadays, a lot of the fights would be worthy.

I didnt want to see Peterson lose again so soon, but thats whats going to happen. Personally i dont see anyone touching Spence at 147. 100% he moves to 154 once he cleans out 147.

Spence isn’t the finished article yet and is still improving. The way he took out Brook in his hometown shows how good he already is and I don’t think Peterson has anything Brook didn’t. Maybe a little more grit bit that will just result in him taking more of a beating.

I see Spence making another statement in this fight especially if Peterson comes to fight ( can’t forget Mathyse ). If Lamont uses his legs then it will go late but I don’t see him winning the rounds. Spence is unstoppable at welter at the moment. Supremacy will be challenged when Crawford arrives as Thurman doesn’t seem too keen to be involved.

Thurman wants nothing to do with Spence, and I don't blame him (though I do think it is cowardly for a "champ" to avoid his top challenger). The reality is that Keith was a bit overrated prior to surgery, and I don't think he will even make it back to what he was prior to the surgery. Brook put on a great performance vs Spence, and still ended up getting stopped. No one will fight Spence now until they are forced to, or until he becomes the big money fighter of the division (I predict some of the names move up or down to avoid him).
