Always weary of the one brick sluggers but I think Lemieux will catch him. Monroe spent half a fight standing in front of him just posing and BJ actually thought he was in Golovkin-Canelo sweepstakes after.

Lemiuex knocks Saunders's BLOCK clean off.... smooooottttthhhhhh out of his boxing shoes. Saunders will think he can box, but he will realize that he had better run at around the 3rd round. Then it is just a wait and see until Lemmy connects and then it is lights out.
I don't think Saunders beat Eubank cleanly. It could have gone either way, with Saunders tiring at the end.

I think people (not here as such) are getting carried away with Lemieux's punching power and jumping to the conclusion that Saunders is getting flattened.
I still dont like the fucker but for me, Saunders stands him on his head.

I think Saunders just has to make it through the first few rounds and then it probably becomes his fight. He took some decent shots from Lee and kept himself out of the wheelhouse. He's a better boxer than Lemieux, so presumably if he doesn't pork up between fights and keeps himself sharp, he just uses his jab and footwork to play bullfighter the first few rounds.
Lemieux tends to load up which is a big tell. After he blows his wad in the first few, his shots become a lot easier to see because the wind up is slower and easier to spot. If Saunders keeps his back off the ropes, stays out of the corners, jabs and doesn't go straight back... he can put lemieux behind on the cards and Lemieux's desperation means he'll start loading up even more.
Lemieux could land a shot conceivably if he uses his jab and backs Saunders up and loops one over the top or sneaks one underneath on the left side on a panic stricken Saunders. For me the pro Saunders situation is easier to fathom because its not as much of a stretch for Saunders against a plodder. Lemieux working on his head movement and learning to deflect with his shoulders to create opportunities for himself on the inside before Saunders makes his exit, would up my stock in Lemieux for this fight.
The x factors are of course:
- The hometown advantage
- The weight issue, both fighters have a tendency to bloat, Lemieux tends to get stronger at the cost of endurance and Saunders just gets pudgy winded and looks disinterested overall.
- Whether enough Saunders Jab has enough on it to get lemieux thinking or just have him reset.
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.
