If Takam was the original opponent and Pulev the replacement the exact same things would have been said about this fight.

Anyone that didn't know Takam certainly doesn't know fuck all about any other heavyweight in the world not named Tyson or Haye.

I'm speaking in general terms - fans that don't know guys like Takam/Pulev are gonna moan and groan about anyone Joshua fights as there's only a tiny handful of famous fighters above them.

For instance he could have been facing Big Baby Miller. Who? Pvetkin? Who? I guarantee more people - even on nerds forums like this - would buy (stream) Bellew-Joshua, whilst slagging it off, than any of the genuine top ranked opponents Joshua will have to face (it makes you realise why old fogies like Frank Warren give his titlists half-a-dozen doddles before going for the jackpot/risk fight).
